OTI Disclaimer The molecular sequence of this clone aligns with the gene accession number as a point of reference only. However, individual transcript sequences of the same gene can differ through naturally occurring variations (e.g. polymorphisms), each with its own valid existence. This clone is substantially in agreement with the reference, but a complete review of all prevailing variants is recommended prior to use. More info
OTI Annotation This clone was engineered to express the complete ORF with an expression tag. Expression varies depending on the nature of the gene.
Components The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified and shipped in a 2D barcoded Matrix tube containing 10ug of transfection-ready, dried plasmid DNA (reconstitute with 100 ul of water).
Reconstitution Method 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.
Note Plasmids are not sterile.  For experiments where strict sterility is required, filtration with 0.22um filter is required.

Summary Calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) which plays an important role in transepithelial anion transport and smooth muscle contraction. Required for the normal functioning of the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs) which generate electrical pacemaker activity in gastrointestinal smooth muscles. Acts as a major contributor to basal and stimulated chloride conductance in airway epithelial cells and plays an important role in tracheal cartilage development.UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function

TMEM16F Expressed in Kupffer Cells Regulates Liver Inflammation and Metabolism to Protect Against Listeria Monocytogenes
Tang, Song, Li et al
Adv Sci (Weinh) (2024)
Cited by 11
AI Summary: OriGene products contributed to this study by providing mouse cDNAs of Tmem16f and Tmem16a, which were used to investigate the roles of these genes in liver Kupffer cells during Listeria monocytogenes infection.
Snippet: The L. monocytogenes (10403s) was kindly provided by Professor Dan Portnoy of UC California, Berkeley. The L. monocytogenes GFP and the ΔactA and Δhly strains were kind gifts from Professor Grégoire Lauvau at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. All the strains were grown at 37 °C in brain heart infusion (BHI) medium. Mouse cDNAs of Tmem16f and Tmem16a were obtained from OriGene
Interleukin-13 stimulates MUC5AC expression via a STAT6-TMEM16A-ERK1/2 pathway in human airway epithelial cells

AI Summary: OriGene's TMEM16A isoform plasmids and empty plasmids were used to transfect human airway epithelial cells, enabling the study of TMEM16A's role in IL-13-induced MUC5AC expression.
Snippet: In six-well tissue culture plates, HBE16 cells were seeded in 2 ml antibiotic-free normal growth medium supplemented with FBS until reached 70% confluence and then transfected with TMEM16A isoform plasmids and empty plasmids (Origene, Rockville, MD, USA) ... Cite SaveSaving
