Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane protein that can form a non-selective channel permeable to calcium and other cations. The encoded protein appears to be induced to form channels by a receptor tyrosine kinase-activated phosphatidylinositol second messenger system and also by depletion of intracellular calcium stores. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

MTI-101 treatment inducing activation of Stim1 and TRPC1 expression is a determinant of response in multiple myeloma
Emmons, Anreddy, Cuevas et al
Sci Rep (2017) 7 (1), 2685 DOI: 10.1038/s41598-017-02713-0
AI Summary: OriGene’s TRPC1 shRNA construct (catalog #TG308629c) was used to generate retrovirus for knocking down TRPC1 expression, enabling the authors to investigate the role of TRPC1 in MTI-101-induced cell death in multiple myeloma cells.
Snippet: pVSV-G envelope vector was transfected into gag-pol packaging genes containing GP-293 cells (63150, Clontech Laboratories, Inc, CA) with TRPC1 shRNA construct, plasmids containing these sequences (TG308629c, Origene Technologies, MD) to produce infectious ecotropic retrovirus. …

AI Summary: OriGene’s shRNA plasmids targeting Orai1, STIM1, and TRPC1 were used in this study to investigate how these Ca(2+) channel proteins contribute to mast cell motility and chemotaxis.
Snippet: shRNA plasmids targeting Orai1, STIM1, and TRPC1 (OriGene, Rockville, MD, USA) were described previously and characterized in RBL cells [39]. GCaMP3 [40] and R-GECO 1 [41] constructs were obtained from Addgene (Cambridge, MA, USA). Cell culture.
