Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA binding homeobox transcription factor involved in embryonic stem (ES) cell proliferation, renewal, and pluripotency. The encoded protein can block ES cell differentiation and can also autorepress its own expression in differentiating cells. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

The allosteric glycogen synthase kinase-3 inhibitor NP12 limits myocardial remodeling and promotes angiogenesis in an acute myocardial infarction model
Baruah, Hitzman, Zhang et al
J. Biol. Chem. (2017)
AI Summary: OriGene products, specifically the control shRNA (T30015) and Nanog shRNA construct (Catalog# TF303039), were used to perform Nanog knockdown experiments that helped determine the role of Nanog in the beneficial effects of NP12 on myocardial remodeling and angiogenesis after acute myocardial infarction.
