Snippet: Using the same surgical procedures as in Experiments 1 and 2, rats were given bilateral dHC infusions of a commercially available lentiviral construct containing either a shRNA targeting ntf4 or a scrambled control (TL709774V, Origene;1 µl per hemisphere;0.125 µL/min). To allow the virus to transfect dHC neurons, the rats were allowed to recover for 2 weeks before behavioral testing
