Summary E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that acts as a negative coregulator for LIM homeodomain transcription factors by mediating the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of LIM cofactors LDB1 and LDB2 and by mediating the recruitment the SIN3a/histone deacetylase corepressor complex. Ubiquitination and degradation of LIM cofactors LDB1 and LDB2 allows DNA-bound LIM homeodomain transcription factors to interact with other protein partners such as RLIM. Plays a role in telomere length-mediated growth suppression by mediating the ubiquitination and degradation of TERF1. By targeting ZFP42 for degradation, acts as an activator of random inactivation of X chromosome in the embryo, a stochastic process in which one X chromosome is inactivated to minimize sex-related dosage differences of X-encoded genes in somatic cells of female placental mammals.UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function

Sequential stabilization of RNF220 by RLIM and ZC4H2 during cerebellum development and Shh-group medulloblastoma progression

AI Summary: In this study, OriGene products—including the RLIM (Myc-DDK-tagged) expression plasmid (RC221834) and RLIM shRNA plasmid (TL309560)—were used to manipulate RLIM expression levels, enabling the authors to investigate RLIM’s role in stabilizing ZC4H2 and RNF220 during cerebellum development and Shh-group medulloblastoma progression.
Snippet: needed to study its potential role during cerebellum development. RLIM has been reported to be involved in cancer development with diverse functions through targeting different proteins. In lung tumorigenesis, RLIM is involved in p53 regulation through the TRIM28‒RLIM‒MDM2 axis and restrains cell proliferation by targeting c-myc (Gao et al., 2016;Jin et al., 2020). It was also reported that

AI Summary: In this study, OriGene products—including the CLIM (FHL2) and RLIM (RNF12) expression plasmids—were used to investigate the roles of these LIM cofactors in regulating estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) transcriptional activity in breast cancer cells.
