Locus ID 54039
UniProt ID P57721
Cytogenetics 21q22.3
RefSeq ORF 1113
Synonyms ALPHA-CP3; PCBP3-OT1; PCBP3OT
Summary This gene encodes a member of the KH-domain protein subfamily. Proteins of this subfamily, also referred to as alpha-CPs, bind to RNA with a specificity for C-rich pyrimidine regions. Alpha-CPs play important roles in post-transcriptional activities and have different cellular distributions. The protein encoded by this gene lacks the nuclear localization signals found in other subfamily members. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017

AI Summary: In this study, the OriGene product PCBP3 (Catalog # TP329176) was used as a purified RNA binding protein in assays investigating the impact of posttranscriptionally impaired synonymous mutations in cancer genomes.
Snippet: Two purified RBPs were used in the assay. Of which, PCBP3 was purchased from OriGene Technologies (Catalog # TP329176;Rockville, USA), and PTBP1 was kindly pro- vided by Dr Yuanchao Xue (Institute of Biophysics, Chi- nese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China)
