Summary The protein encoded by this gene mediates transcriptional control by interaction with the Kruppel-associated box repression domain found in many transcription factors. The protein localizes to the nucleus and is thought to associate with specific chromatin regions. The protein is a member of the tripartite motif family. This tripartite motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008

SMURF2/USP7-mediated ubiquitination of KAP1 controls its SUMO E3 ligase activity and chromatin regulation
Boutros‐Suleiman, Nambiar, Shah et al
bioRxiv (2025)
Snippet: In vitro ubiquitination assays were conducted using either purified FLAG-KAP1 (immobilized on agarose beads following affinity purification from HEK-293T cells) or MYC-KAP1 (Origene, Cat# TP301205). T
Interactions of ErbB4 and Kap1 connect the growth factor and DNA damage response pathways
Gilmore-Hebert, Ramabhadran, Stern
Mol Cancer Res (2010) 8 (10), 1388-98 DOI: 10.1158/1541-7786.MCR-10-0042
AI Summary: In this study, OriGene products—including the ERBB4 expression plasmid (RC200003) and ERBB4 shRNA (TG311019)—were used to manipulate ERBB4 levels in cells, enabling the authors to investigate the molecular interactions and functional consequences of ErbB4 and Kap1 in linking growth factor and DNA damage response pathways.
