Recommended Dilution This product is designed for Immunofluorescence Microscopy, Fluorescence based plate assays (FLISA) and Fluorescent Western blotting. This product is also suitable for multiplex analysis, including multicolor imaging, utilizing various commercial platforms.
Recommended Dilutions:
FLISA: 1/10,000-1/50,000.
Flow Cytometry: 1/500-1/2,500.
Protein Description Purified Streptavidin (Streptomyces Avidinii).
Note Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Streptavidin.
No reaction was observed against anti-Avidin.
Storage Store vial at 2-8°C prior to restoration. For extended storage mix product with glycerol to 50% and then aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C
or below. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid.
Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
Stability Shelf life: one year from despatch.

Summary Streptavidin, a tetrameric protein secreted by Streptomyces avidinii, binds tightly to a small growth factor biotin. It finds wide use in molecular biology through its extraordinarily strong affinity for the vitamin biotin; the dissociation constant (Kd) of the biotin-streptavidin complex is on the order of ~10-15 mol/L. The high affinity recognition of biotin and biotinylated molecules has made streptavidin one of the most important components in diagnostics and laboratory kits.
