Background c-Myc is a multifunctional, nuclear phosphoprotein that plays a role in cell cycle progression, apoptosis and cellular transformation. It functions as a transcription factor that regulates transcription of specific target genes. Mutations, overexpression, rearrangement and translocation of this gene have been associated with a variety of hematopoietic tumors, leukemias and lymphomas, including Burkitt lymphoma. The synthesis of non-AUG initiated protein is suppressed in Burkitt's lymphomas, suggesting its importance in the normal function of this gene.
Synonyms bHLHe39; c-Myc; MRTL; MYCC

AI Summary: OriGene’s anti-c-Myc antibody (clone OTI3F2, TA500003) was used in this study to detect and isolate c-Myc-tagged proteins during co-immunoprecipitation experiments, facilitating the investigation of protein interactions involved in podocyte homeostasis.
Snippet: desired proteins in each case. One mg total cell protein was used per IP and isotype control mouse IgG antibody were used along with antibodies against: FLAG (F1804, Sigma;RRID:AB_262044) and c-Myc (Origene, clone OTI3F2, formerly 3F2, TA500003, RRID:AB_2148581). Anti-FLAG M2 affinity (Sigma), anti-c-Myc agarose and protein A/G beads (Pierce, Thermo Fisher Scientific) were used to isolate protein
