Database Link
Background The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the leprecan family of proteoglycans, which function as collagen prolyl hydroxylases that are required for proper collagen biosynthesis, folding and assembly. This protein, like other family members, is thought to reside in the endoplasmic reticulum. Epigenetic inactivation of this gene is associated with breast and other cancers, suggesting that it may function as a tumor suppressor.

Collagen prolyl hydroxylase 3 has a tumor suppressive activity in human lung cancer
Li, Chen, Ma et al
Exp. Cell Res. (2017)
AI Summary: OriGene contributed to this study by providing the full-length human-Leprel2 cDNA, which was used for functional analysis of P3H3's tumor suppressive role in lung cancer.
Snippet: A full-length human-Leprel2 cDNA purchased from Origene (Rockville, Maryland, United States) was cut by restriction enzymes EcoRI and NotI and cloned into a mammalian expression vector pcDNATM3.1/V5-His B (Thermo Fisher)
