Product Data
Applications ELISA, IHC, WB
Recommended Dilution Suitable for immunoblotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunomicroscopy as well as other antibody based assays using streptavidin or avidin conjugates requiring lot-to-lot consistency.
This product has been assayed against 1.0 µg of Avidin [Hen Egg White] in a standard sandwich ELISA using Peroxidase conjugated Affinity Purified anti-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (Goat) (R1364HRP) and (ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A working dilution of 1:8,000 to 1:32,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.
Reactivities Chicken
Host Rabbit
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Avidin [Hen Egg White]
Specificity Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Avidin [Hen Egg White].
Formulation 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2, with 10 mg/ml Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) IgG and Protease free as stabilizer and 0.01% (w/v) Sodium Azide as preservative
Label: Biotin
State: Lyophilized purified IgG fraction
Label: Biotinamidocaproate N-Hydroxysuccinimide Ester (BAC)
Molar radio: 10-20 BAC molecules per Rabbit IgG molecule
Reconstitution Method Restore with 1.0 ml of deionized water (or equivalent).
Concentration lot specific
Purification A multistep process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated below
Conjugation Biotin
Storage Store vial at 2-8°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water (or equivalent); centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for one month at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid.
For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Stability Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Gene Name avidin
Background The biological function of avidin is not known. It is a homotetrameric glycoprotein found in chicken egg white, and forms a strong non covalent specific complex with biotin (one molecule of biotin per subunit of avidin).
