Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that belongs to the interferon regulatory factor family. Proteins belonging to this family have a DNA binding domain at the amino terminus that contains five well-conserved tryptophan-rich repeats. This domain recognizes DNA sequences similar to the interferon-stimulated response element. The protein encoded by this gene promotes or suppresses lineage-specific genes to regulate the differentation of lymphoid and myeloid lineage cells. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

J Virol (2021) 95 (7) DOI: 10.1128/JVI.02141-20
AI Summary: In this study, OriGene products including TRIF shRNA (OriGene, Cat# TL313386) and IRF8 shRNA (OriGene, Cat# TL313386B) were used to knock down gene expression and investigate the roles of TRIF and IRF8 in the repression of HIV-1 replication in macrophages.
