Summary This gene encodes a member of the family of non-receptor type Tyr protein kinases. This protein is widely expressed in hematopoietic cells and is involved in coupling activated immunoreceptors to downstream signaling events that mediate diverse cellular responses, including proliferation, differentiation, and phagocytosis. It is thought to be a modulator of epithelial cell growth and a potential tumour suppressor in human breast carcinomas. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

Fcγ-receptor IIa-mediated Src Signaling Pathway is Essential for the Antibody-Dependent Enhancement of Ebola Virus Infection
Furuyama, Marzi, Carmody et al
PLoS Pathog. (2016) 12 (12), e1006139 DOI: 10.1371/journal.ppat.1006139
AI Summary: OriGene's human Src and Syk shRNA plasmids were used to knock down these kinases in Plat-GP cells, enabling the study to demonstrate the essential role of Src signaling in antibody-dependent enhancement of Ebola virus infection.
Snippet: Plat-GP cells (Cell Biolabs) were cotransfected with pRS (retroviral plasmids) encoding human Src or Syk shRNA (ORIGENE) and the expression plasmid pCAGGS encoding the VSV G protein using Lipofectamine 2000 (Invitrogen)
