Summary This gene encodes a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways. provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

AI Summary: OriGene products, including shRNA plasmids for UHRF1 (GI333964), HBP1 (TL312507), MIF (TR319111), a control shRNA (TR30007), an HBP1 overexpression plasmid (RG202260), and a control plasmid (PS100010), were used to manipulate gene expression in leukemia cells, enabling the study of UHRF1, HBP1, and MIF roles in T acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Snippet: The shRNA plas‑ mids included UHRF1 (GI333964), HBP1 (TL312507), MIF (TR319111), or control (TR30007). The overexpression plasmid was HBP1 (RG202260) or control (PS100010) (Origene). In vivo leukemia cell transplantation
Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor Regulates Akt Signaling in Hypoxic Culture to Modulate Senescence of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Palumbo, Tsai, Li
Stem Cells Dev. (2013)

AI Summary: OriGene products contributed to this study by providing the pCMV6-Entry vector containing the MIF gene for overexpression and the HuSH pGFP-V-RS control shRNA plasmid, which were used to manipulate MIF expression and investigate its role in regulating Akt signaling and senescence in human mesenchymal stem cells.
Snippet: To construct a plasmid for MIF overexpression, referred to as MIFover, the coding sequence of MIF gene of the pCMV6-Entry vector (Origene, Rockville, MD) was isolated by ... HuSH pGFP-V-RS (Origene). The control shRNA plasmid containing a non-specific scrambled ... Cite SaveSaving
