Summary This gene encodes a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. Family members share a highly-conserved N-terminal helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain and a less conserved C-terminal protein-binding domain. The encoded protein may be a transcriptional activator. Mutations in this gene can cause van der Woude syndrome and popliteal pterygium syndrome. Mutations in this gene are also associated with non-syndromic orofacial cleft type 6. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.provided by RefSeq, May 2011
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

TGFβ3 Regulates Periderm Removal through ΔNp63 in the Developing Palate

AI Summary: OriGene products pRS-shRNA-ΔNp63 and pRS-shRNA-IRF6 were used to specifically knock down ΔNp63 and IRF6 expression in primary MEE cells, enabling the authors to investigate the roles of these genes in periderm removal during palate development.
Snippet: MEE cells were treated with rTGFβ3 (5.0 ng/ml) for 24 hours. In order to block endogenous IRF6 and ΔNp63 mRNA levels, MEE cells were treated with pRS-shRNA- ΔNp63 and pRS-shRNA-IRF6 (OriGene Technologies Inc, Rockville, MD) for 24 hours followed by ... Cite SaveSaving
