Summary The protein encoded by this gene recognizes the sequence CCTTGAG along with other members of the HMG-box class DNA-binding proteins. It acts during chondrocyte differentiation and, with steroidogenic factor 1, regulates transcription of the anti-Muellerian hormone (AMH) gene. Deficiencies lead to the skeletal malformation syndrome campomelic dysplasia, frequently with sex reversal. provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

AI Summary: OriGene’s SOX9 shRNAs (sh1 and sh75) were used to knock down SOX9 expression in cells, enabling the authors to study the effects of SOX9 depletion on tumorigenic properties in their investigation of SOX9’s role in cancer.
Snippet: by short hairpin RNA (shRNA), cells were transfected using Lipofectamine (Invitrogen), according to instructions of the reagent supplier. Cells were cultivated in the presence of puromycin for 3 weeks. Cells were transfected using 2 different SOX9 shRNAs (OriGene;sh1 or sh75
