Summary The protein encoded by this gene is an inner mitochondrial membrane scaffold protein. Absence of the encoded protein affects the structural integrity of mitochondrial cristae and leads to reductions in ATP production, cell growth, and oxygen consumption. This protein is part of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015
shRNA Design These shRNA constructs were designed against multiple splice variants at this gene locus. To be certain that your variant of interest is targeted, please contact techsupport@origene.com. If you need a special design or shRNA sequence, please utilize our custom shRNA service.

AI Summary: OriGene’s Turbofectin transfection reagent was used in this study to deliver ChChd3-shRNA or scrambled-control constructs into cells, enabling the investigation of ChChd3’s role in mitochondrial structure and function.
Snippet: GlutaMAX grown to 40% confluency in 35 mm plates were transfected with ChChd3-shRNA or scrambled-control using Turbofectin (OriGene) according to ... To improve the signal-to-noise ratio, each image was binned down two times by averaging adjacent pixels so that the final
