Summary This gene encodes a cytosolic protein that binds to the signaling molecule, neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS). This protein has a C-terminal PDZ-binding domain that mediates interactions with nNOS and an N-terminal phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domain that binds to the small monomeric G protein, Dexras1. Studies of the related mouse and rat proteins have shown that this protein functions as an adapter protein linking nNOS to specific targets, such as Dexras1 and the synapsins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009

Cyclic Peptides Target CAPON and Modulate Cellular Responses under Alzheimers Disease-Relevant Stress
Abdo, Yuan, Kuncewicz et al
bioRxiv (2026)
AI Summary: OriGene’s recombinant human CAPON protein (Catalog# TP760978) was used as the immobilized target for phage display screening to identify cyclic peptide ligands in this study.
Snippet: A disulfide-constrained phage-displayed cyclic peptide library based on a CX9C scaffold was used to identify ligands capable of engaging human CAPON. Recombinant human CAPON (Origene, Catalog# TP760978) was immobilized on a solid support, and the phage library was subjected to iterative rounds of biopanning against the target protein
