Synonyms Ras-related protein Rab-7a, RAB7, RAB7A member RAS oncogene family, CMT2B, Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy 2B
Summary RAB family members are small, RAS-related GTP-binding proteins that are important regulators of vesicular transport. Each RAB protein targets multiple proteins that act in exocytic / endocytic pathways. This gene encodes a RAB family member that regulates vesicle traffic in the late endosomes and also from late endosomes to lysosomes. This encoded protein is also involved in the cellular vacuolation of the VacA cytotoxin of Helicobacter pylori. Mutations at highly conserved amino acid residues in this gene have caused some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) type 2 neuropathies. provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008

Presumed LRP1-targeting transport peptide delivers β-secretase inhibitor to neurons in vitro with limited efficiency
Kim, Casalini, Brambilla et al
Sci Rep (2016) 6, 34297 DOI: 10.1038/srep34297
AI Summary: In this study, OriGene's BACE1-GFP plasmid was used to visualize and track β-secretase (BACE1) localization in neurons, aiding the assessment of the transport peptide's efficiency in delivering the inhibitor to its cellular target.
Snippet: cells were seeded in 4-well chambered slides (LabTek, 100,000 cells/well) andtransfected on the following day for 6 h with either Late Endosome CellLight from ThermoFisherScientific which labels the Rab7a protein (Waltham, MA) or BACE1-GFP from OriGene (Rockville ... Cite SaveSaving

Uric acid crystal could inhibit Numb-induced URAT1 lysosome degradation in uric acid nephropathy
Wu, Zhang, Liu et al
J. Physiol. Biochem. (2015)
Cited by 13
AI Summary: OriGene products contributed key genetic constructs to this study, including the C-terminal GFP fusion URAT1 construct, GFP-Numb, Numb-shRNA, GFP-Rab5, GFP-Rab7, and GFP-Rab11, which were used to investigate the cellular mechanisms regulating URAT1 in uric acid nephropathy.
Snippet: URAT1 construct was pur- chased from ORIGENE in a C-terminal GFP fusion form and replaced the GFP by mRFP or Myc by rou- tinely subclone. GFP-Numb, Numb-shRNA, GFP- Rab5, GFP-Rab7, and GFP-Rab11 were all purchased from ORIGENE. ... Cite SaveSaving
Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 2B disease-causing RAB7A mutant proteins show altered interaction with the neuronal intermediate filament peripherin
Cogli, Progida, Thomas et al
Acta Neuropathol. (2013) 125 (2), 257-72 DOI: 10.1007/s00401-012-1063-8
Cited by 54
AI Summary: OriGene’s pCMV6-AN-HA vector (PS100013) was used to express HA-tagged peripherin, enabling the researchers to study interactions between peripherin and RAB7A proteins in their investigation of Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 2B disease mechanisms.
Snippet: Peri- pherin ORF was transferred using AsiSI and MluI restriction enzymes to pCMV6-AN-HA (Origene, PS100013) to obtain a vector for the expression of HA- tagged peripherin. ... Strikingly, anti-RAB7A antibodies recognized a band Fig.
