Background Bradykinin, a 9 aa peptide, is generated in pathophysiologic conditions such as inflammation, trauma, burns, shock, and allergy. Two types of G-protein coupled receptors have been found which bind bradykinin and mediate responses to these pathophysiologic conditions. The protein encoded by this gene is one of these receptors and is synthesized de novo following tissue injury. Receptor binding leads to an increase in the cytosolic calcium ion concentration, ultimately resulting in chronic and acute inflammatory responses. provided by RefSeq

Genetic variation and gender determine bradykinin type 1 receptor responses in human tissue: implications for the ACE inhibitor-induced effects in patients with coronary artery disease
Wu, Roks, Leijten et al
Clin. Sci. (2013)
AI Summary: OriGene's anti-B1 receptor antibody was used for Western blot analysis to detect B1 receptor protein levels in human tissue samples, helping to assess the impact of genetic variation on bradykinin B1 receptor expression.
Snippet: phosphatase inhibitor cocktail 3 (Sigma-Aldrich). Lysates were analyzed by standard Western blotting techniques under denaturating conditions, making use of an anti-B1 receptor antibody (Origene). In 16 samples (11 AA, 5
