Western blot analysis of lysate from human placenta tissue lysate, using FUCA2 Antibody (N-term) (Cat. #TA302288). TA302288 was diluted at 1:1000 at each lane. A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L (HRP) at 1:5000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysate at 35ug per lane.

  Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with FUCA2 antibody (N-term) (Cat.#TA302288), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

• Background: Alpha-L-fucosidase catalyzes the hydrolysis of terminal alpha-L-fucosidase linkages in glycosphingolipids and glycoproteins. At least 2 separate polymorphic alpha-L-fucosidases are recognized in man. The FUCA2 locus regulates the level of alpha-fucosidase in plasma and fibroblasts but not in leukocytes. In fucosidosis, deficiency of alpha-L-fucosidase is found in both plasma and leukocytes.
