Product Components The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified and shipped in a 2D barcoded Matrix tube containing 10ug of transfection-ready, dried plasmid DNA (reconstitute with 100 ul of water).
Reconstitution 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.

Gene Summary This locus encodes a member of the fork-head transcription factor family. The encoded protein, which functions as a transcriptional repressor, is highly expressed in neural tissues during brain development. Mutations at this locus have been associated with Rett syndrome and a diverse spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders defined as part of the FOXG1 syndrome. This gene is disregulated in many types of cancer and is the target of multiple microRNAs that regulate the proliferation of tumor cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2020]
