Product Data | |
Clone Name | 4H9 |
---|---|
Application | ELISA, IHC |
Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry on Frozen sections. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin sections: 1/100 - 1/7000; Microwave pretreatment is required. Enzyme digestion with 0.1% trypsin may also be necessary. ELISA: This antibody is suitable for use in a sandwich ELISA with clone 5D5 (BM356). |
Reactivity | Human |
Antibody Host | Mouse |
Isotype | IgG1 |
Clonality | Monoclonal |
Immunogen | Corticotrophin Releasing Factor conjugated to Bovine Serum Albumin. |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for corticotrophin releasing factor (CRF), a hormone found mainly in the hypothalamus that regulates the release of corticotrophin from the pituitary gland. The unique lysine residue (Lys-36) is likely to be involved in the antigenic determinant as lysine modification by CA blocks binding completely. Human serum, containing CRF-binding protein, also inhibits the binding of this antibody to CRF. |
Buffer | PBS containing 0.09% Sodium Azide State: Purified State: Liquid purified IgG |
Concentration | lot specific |
Purification | Affinity chromatography on Protein G |
Conjugation | Unconjugated |
Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. |
Stability | Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
Shipping | Blue Ice |
Gene Name | corticotropin releasing hormone |

Background | CRF precursor is a 41-amino acid peptide derived from a 196-amino acid preprohormone. CRF is a neuroendocrine hormone secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus and is a key player in the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis. It is also synthesized in peripheral tissues, such as T lymphocytes and is highly expressed in the placenta. Neuronal CRF is important in a variety of diverse roles including, memory, depression, stress, kidney function, parturition, metabolism and feeding (to mention a few). |
