Background | Cancer antigen 50 (CA50), a carcinoma associated carbohydrate antigen, has been found to be elevated in the blood of patients with colorectal cancer and other malignancies. CA50 has been evaluated in various studies for use as a tumor marker for cancer diagnosis. Results showed that CA50 was marginally useful for the diagnosis and very useful for the follow-up study of patients with pancreatic cancer. |
