HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY RNF4 (RC207273, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-RNF4 (1:2000). Positive lysates LY432659 (100ug) and LC432659 (20ug) can be purchased separately from OriGene.

  Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 5 different cell lines by using anti-RNF4 monoclonal antibody (1:500).

• Background: The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger motif and acts as a transcription regulator. This protein has been shown to interact with, and inhibit the activity of, TRPS1, a transcription suppressor of GATA-mediated transcription. Transcription repressor ZNF278/PATZ is found to interact with this protein, and thus reduce the enhancement of androgen receptor-dependent transcription mediated by this protein. Studies of the mouse and rat counterparts suggested a role of this protein in spermatogenesis. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
