Applications ELISA, IHC, IP, WB
Recommended Dilution This Apolipoprotein antibody has been used for indirect trapping ELISA for quantitation of antigen in serum using a standard curve, for Immunoprecipitation, Western blotting for highly sensitive qualitative analysis and for Immunohistochemistry.
Recommended Dilutions:
ELISA: 1/5,000-1/10,000.
Western blot: 1/500-1/5,000.
Immunoprecipitation: 1/100.
Immunohistochemistry Paraffin Sections: 1/50-1/200.
Reactivities Human
Host Goat
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Synthetic full-length Apolipoprotein Type C-III derived from human plasma.
Specificity This product has been prepared by Immunoaffinity chromatography using immobilized antigens followed by extensive cross-adsorption against other apoLipoproteins and human serum proteins to remove any unwanted specificities. Typically less than 1% cross reactivity against other types of ApoLipoprotein was detected by ELISA against purified standards.
This antibody recognizes Human ApoLipoprotein C-III and has negligible cross-reactivity with Type A-I, A-II, B, C-I, C-II, E and J ApoLipoproteins.
Non-specific cross reaction of anti-ApoLipoprotein antibodies with other Human serum proteins is negligible.
Formulation 0.125M Sodium Borate, 0.075M Sodium Chloride, 0.005M EDTA, pH 8.0, with 0.01% Sodium Azide as preservative.
State: Purified
State: Liquid (sterile filtered) purified Ig fraction.
Concentration lot specific
Purification Immunoaffinity Chromatography.
Conjugation Unconjugated
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20 °C for longer.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Stability Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Gene Name apolipoprotein C3
Background At least 9 distinct polymorphic forms of apolipoproteins are known. The apolipoproteins act as stabilizers of the intact lipoprotein particles. Quantitative measurements of HDL, LDL and VLDL particles in human serum are often used to estimate an individuals' relative risk of coronary heart disease. In addition, quantitative immunological measurements of certain apolipoproteins (especially A1 and B) have been suggested to be more accurate estimators of coronary heart disease than measurements of lipoprotein particles (especially HDL and LDL).
Apolipoprotein C-III is a very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) protein. It inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase and it is thought to delay catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. An increase in apoC-III levels induces the development of hypertriglyceridemia.
Synonyms Apolipoprotein C-III, Apolipoprotein C3, Apo-CIII, ApoC-III
