Recommended Dilution This antibody has been tested and validated in ELISA against Glucagon (1-29). Other applications like immunohistochemistry (IHC), FACS or Western Blot may work as well. Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user.
Reactivities Human, Rat, Porcine
Host Rabbit
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Synthetic peptide H-His-Ser-Gln-Gly-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Asp-Tyr-Ser-Lys- Tyr-Leu-Asp-Ser-Arg-Arg-Ala-Gln-Asp-Phe-Val-Gln-Trp-Leu-Met-Asn- Thr-OH coupled to carrier protein.
Formulation Each vial contains enough antiserum for 500 RIA tubes. The powder should be rehydrated with 50ml RIA buffer. Upon reconstitution to 50ml total volume, the solution contains 0.1M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4), 0.05M NaCl, 0.1% BSA, 0.01% NaN3, and 0.1% Triton X-100. Store at 4°C. This should ensure antibody stability for approximately one month.
Concentration N/A
Conjugation Unconjugated
Storage Original vial: at least one year at 4° - 8°C from date of delivery. Minimize repeated thawing and freezing of the antiserum by freezing aliquots at -20°C or below.
Gene Name glucagon
Background Glucagon is a peptide hormone secreted from the pancreatic Islet of Langerhans alpha-cells. It works to raise the concentration of glucose and fatty acids in the bloodstream, and is considered to be the main catabolic hormone of the body. Glucagon (1-29) acts on hepatic enzymes that regulate glucose production and glycogen synthesis. Excessive amounts of circulating glucagon are implicated in the metabolic dysregulation of type 2 diabetes, since such conditions result in hyperglycemia. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Glucagon (1-29) coupled to a carrier protein.
Synonyms GLP1; GLP2; glucagon; GRPP
