• Background: The rat anti-mouse IL-2 monoclonal antibody (clone S4B6-1) is of the IgG2a subtype and neutralizes both natural and recombinant mouse IL-2 in vivo (Chaudhri G. et al. 2004). Zurawski S. et al. 1986 used the S4B6-1 antibody in Western blot analysis. Their analysis showed that the determinant recognized by S4B6-1 requires the N-terminal region of mouse IL 2 and there was no cross reaction with human IL-2. The S4B6-1 antibody is also applicable in immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues, intracellular staining, FACS analysis and immunoprecipitation (Chaudhri G. et al. 2004, Assenmacher M. et al. 1998 and Mosmann T. et al. 1990).
