This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotin conjugated antibody (Cat-N. PP1210B) as a detection antibody , allows the detection of 2000-4000 pg/well of recombinant hLD78-Beta.
  Western Blot: To detect hLD78-Beta by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1- 0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hLD78-Beta is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

• Background: LD78 belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. It is closely related to MIP-1 alpha. This protein binds to several chemokine receptors including chemokine binding protein 2 and chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 5 (CCR5). CCR5 is a co-receptor for HIV; binding of this protein to CCR5 inhibits HIV entry, and LD78 beta has been shown to exhibit potent activity in HIV suppression assays.
  The copy number of the LD78 gene varies among individuals; most individuals have 1-6 copies in the diploid genome, although rare individuals have zero or more than six copies.
  The gene encodes a 93 amino acid preprotein; the mature protein contains 70 amino acids.
