Western analysis of recombinant Mouse VEGF164 ( DA3518X), Human VEGF165 ( DA3514X), Human PlGF-1 ( DA3508), Human FGF-2 and Human VEGF-C ( AR01001PU-S) using a polyclonal Rabbit anti-Mouse VEGF-A antibody. There is a strong cross reactivity with human VEGF165 but not with human PlGF-1, FGF-2 and VEGF-C.

• Recommended Dilution: ELISA: To detect Murine VEGF-A by Direct ELISA a concentration of at least 0.5 µg/ml is required. This purified IgG, in combination with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.5-1.0 ng/well of recombinant Murine VEGF165 or other VEGF-A splice forms.
  Western Blot: To detect Murine VEGF-A by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant murine VEGF-A is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
  Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections 2-10 µg/ml (Pretreatment with 0.01% Proteinase K, 15 min at RT).

• Background: VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein involved in angiogenesis which promotes tumor progression and metastasis. It exhibits potent mitogenic and permeability inducing properties specific for the vascular endothelium. Of the four isoforms of VEGF, the smaller two, VEGF₁₆₅ and VEGF₁₂₁, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two (VEGF₁₈₉ and VEGF₂₀₆) remain cell associated.
