HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY PROZ (RC210379, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-PROZ (1:500). Positive lysates LY401283 (100ug) and LC401283 (20ug) can be purchased separately from OriGene.

• Background: This gene encodes a liver vitamin K-dependent glycoprotein that is synthesized in the liver and secreted into the plasma. The encoded protein plays a role in regulating blood coagulation by complexing with protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor to directly inhibit activated factor X at the phospholipid surface. Deficiencies in this protein are associated with an increased risk of ischemic arterial diseases and fetal loss. Mutations in this gene are the cause of protein Z deficiency.
