Product Data
Applications ELISA, WB
Recommended Dilution ELISA: Direct: To detect hIL-19 by direct ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-19.
Sandwich: To detect hIL-19 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. In conjunction with Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-19 as a capture antibody, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-19.
Western Blot: To detect hIL-19 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hIL-19 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Gene Name interleukin 19
Background IL19 is a cytokine that belongs to the IL10 cytokine subfamily. This cytokine is found to be preferentially expressed in monocytes. It can bind the IL20 receptor complex and lead to the activation of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). A similar cytokine in mouse is reported to up-regulate the expression of IL6 and TNF-alpha and induce apoptosis, which suggests a role of this cytokine in inflammatory responses.
Little is known about the biologic function and gene regulation of IL19.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
Synonyms IL-19, NG.1, ZMDA
