Product Data
Applications ELISA, Neutralize, WB
Recommended Dilution Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human BD-2 by Sandwich ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with biotinylated Anti-Human BD-2 (Cat.-No PP1125B1 or PP1125B2) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human BD-2.
Western Blot: To detect Human BD-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hBD-2 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Human BD-2 (1.0 μg/ml), a concentration of 5.0-8.0 mg/ml of this antibody is required.
Reactivities Human
Host Goat
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Highly pure (>98%) E.coli derived recombinant Human BD-2 (Cat.-No PA139)

Gene Name defensin beta 4B
Background This antibiotic peptide is locally regulated by inflammation. Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence.
hBD-2 is a antimicrobial peptide, which belongs to the distinct family of beta-defensins.
Synonyms Beta-defensin 4A, Beta-defensin 2, BD-2, hBD-2, DEFB102, DEFB2, Skin-antimicrobial peptide 1, DEFB4B, DEFB4A
