Preparation:HEK293T cells were transiently transfected with MegaTran Transfection Reagent (TT200002) and TrueORF cDNA plasmid. Transfected cells were cultured for 48-72 hrs before collection. The cells were lysed in modified RIPA buffer (25mM Tris-HCl pH7.6, 150mM NaCl, 1% NP-40, 1mM EDTA, 1xProteinase inhibitor cocktail mix (Sigma), 1mM PMSF and 1mM Na3VO4), and then centrifuged to clarify the lysate. Recombinant proteins were purified through anti-DDK affinity columns. Protein concentration was measured by BCA kit.
Buffer and Storage:10% glycerol, 100 mM glycine, 25 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.3. Store at -80C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Stable for 3 months from receipt of products under proper storage and handling conditions.

Summary: This gene is a member of the Ig superfamily and encodes a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. This type I membrane protein mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction, and may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Three alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq].
