|Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (TrpRS) is a dual function enzyme that acts in protein biosynthesis and angiogenesis (1). TrpRS is a Zn2+-dependent, dimeric, class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase (2). Aminoacyl-tRNAs play a major role in connecting amino acids with nucleotide triplets in tRNAs (3). TrpRS catalyzes the aminoacylation of tRNA(trp) with tryptophan. TrpRS exists in two different forms: cytoplasmic (WARS) and mitochondrial (WARS2) (2).|
