Reference Data

Target NameHomo sapiens protein tyrosine phosphatase, receptor type, N (PTPRN), transcript variant 1
Alternative NameIA-2; IA-2/PTP; IA2; ICA512; R-PTP-N
Database LinkNP_002837
Entrez Gene 5798 Human
Entrez Gene 19275 Mouse

FunctionThe protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and a single catalytic domain, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. This PTP was found to be an autoantigen that is reactive with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) patient sera, and thus may be a potential target of autoimmunity in diabetes mellitus.

HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY PTPRN (RC220230, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-PTPRN.
Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 9 different cell lines by using anti-PTPRN polyclonal antibody (HepG2: human; HeLa: human; SVT2: mouse; A549: human; COS7: monkey; Jurkat: human; MDCK: canine; PC12: rat; MCF7: human).
