This gene encodes a membrane-associated enzyme located at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway. The encoded protein is the first specific enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, catalyzing the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl diphosphate in a two-step reaction to form squalene. HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY FDFT1 (RC201392, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-FDFT1.
HEK293T cells transfected with either RC201392 overexpress plasmid(Red) or empty vector control plasmid(Blue) were immunostained by anti-FDFT1 antibody(TA503450), and then analyzed by flow cytometry.
