XAB2 belongs to the crooked-neck family, which contains 14 HAT repeats. It is involved in transcription-coupled repair (TCR), transcription and pre-mRNA splicing. XAB2 associates with RNA polymerase II, the TCR-specific proteins CKN1/CSA and ERCC6/CSB, and XPA, and is identified in the spliceosome C complex (1).
