BackgroundDEF6, or IBP, is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAC and CDC42 that is highly expressed in B and T cells (1). It plays a unique role in TCR-mediated signaling pathways and the control of adaptive immune responses (2). DEF6 is also involved in the development and maturation of Th2 cells (3).
