|POH1, also called PSMD14, is a member of the peptidase M67A family and a metalloprotease component of the 26S proteasome that specifically cleaves the 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitin chains. The 26S proteasome is involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. It is widely expressed with highest levels in the heart and skeletal muscle (1).|
