Background	Netrin-G2 is a vertebrate-specific axon guidance molecule that plays a role in synapse formation and maintenance (1, 2). It contains an intracellular PDZ (postsynaptic density-95/discs large/zona occludens-1) binding domain thought to be important in effecting downstream signaling events, and a leucine-rich repeat extracellular domain that forms a horseshoe-shaped hook with which it binds to its pre-synaptic partner (1).
