Homo sapiens potassium inwardly-rectifying channel, subfamily J, member 2 (KCNJ2)
Synonyms:
ATFB9; HHBIRK1; HHIRK1; IRK1; KIR2.1; LQT7; SQT3
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in the extracellular domain of human IRK1 / KCNJ2 was used as an immunogen.
Buffer
Store at -20 C. Buffer: 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.
IRK1 / KCNJ2 (Inward rectifier potassium channel 2) is an inwardly rectifying K+ channel that may be blocked by divalent cations. This protein is thought to be one of multiple inwardly rectifying channels, which contribute to the cardiac inward rectifier current (IK1) (1). Thus, it probably participates in establishing action potential waveform and excitability of neuronal and muscle tissues (2). IRK1 / KCNJ2 is associated with Smith-Magenis syndrome (1).
