FunctionThe protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane protein containing three extracellular CUB domains. This protein is found to be overexpressed in colon and lung cancers. Its expression level is correlated with the metastatic ability of carcinoma cells. This protein is located on the cell surface. It has been shown to be tyrosine phosphorylated in a cancer cell line. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
Related PathwayES Cell Differentiation/IPSTransmembrane

HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY CDCP1 (RC220633, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-CDCP1.
Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 9 different cell lines by using anti-CDCP1 monoclonal antibody (HepG2: human; HeLa: human; SVT2: mouse; A549: human; COS7: monkey; Jurkat: human; MDCK: canine; PC12: rat; MCF7: human).
Flow cytometric Analysis of Jurkat cells, using anti-CDCP1 antibody(TA502231),(Red), compared to a nonspecific negative control antibody,(Blue).
