• Reconstitution: 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
  2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
  3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
  5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.

• Gene Summary: This gene encodes a membrane-associated phospholipase that displays lysophospholipase and phospholipase A2 activities through removal of sn-1 and sn-2 fatty acids of glycerophospholipids. In addition, it displays lipase and retinyl ester hydrolase activities. The encoded protein is highly conserved and is composed of a large, glycosylated extracellular domain composed of four tandem homologous domains, followed by a hydrophobic segment that anchors the enzyme to the membrane and a short C-terminal cytoplasmic tail.
