Product Components The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified and shipped in a 2D barcoded Matrix tube containing 10ug of transfection-ready, dried plasmid DNA (reconstitute with 100 ul of water).
Reconstitution 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.

Gene Summary Anchoring/scaffolding protein that is a part of the functional network formed by USH1C, USH1G, CDH23 and MYO7A that mediates mechanotransduction in cochlear hair cells. Required for normal development and maintenance of cochlear hair cell bundles (PubMed:19447093). As part of the intermicrovillar adhesion complex/IMAC plays a role in brush border differentiation, controlling microvilli organization and length. Probably plays a central regulatory role in the assembly of the complex, recruiting CDHR2, CDHR5 and MYO7B to the microvilli tips (PubMed:24725409, PubMed:26812018).[UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function]
Transcript Variant: This variant (b4) has an additional segment in the 3' coding region, resulting in frame-shift, as compared to variant b3. The resulting isoform (b4) is shorter and has a different C-terminus, as compared to isoform b3.
