HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Cat# PS100001, Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY PMVK (Cat# RC202867, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-PMVK(Cat# TA503449). Positive lysates LY416571 (100ug) and LC416571 (20ug) can be purchased separately from OriGene.

  Anti-PMVK mouse monoclonal antibody (TA503449) immunofluorescent staining of COS7 cells transiently transfected by pCMV6-ENTRY PMVK (RC202867).

  HEK293T cells transfected with either RC202867 overexpress plasmid (Red) or empty vector control plasmid (Blue) were immunostained by anti-PMVK antibody (TA503449), and then analyzed by flow cytometry.

• Background: This gene encodes a peroxisomal enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate 5-phosphate into mevalonate 5-diphosphate, the fifth reaction of the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway. Studies in rat show that the message level and the enzyme activity of this protein is regulated by sterol, and that this regulation is coordinated with 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme of cholesterol biosynthesis.
