Gene Name Fanconi anemia complementation group D2
Database Link
Background Fanconi anemia (FANC) is a human autosomal-recessive cancer susceptibility disorder characterized by congenital defects, progressive bone marrow failure, and cellular hypersensitivity to mitomycin C (MMC). The FANC subunit D2 protein is vital for cellular resistance to DNA cross-linking and the arrest of DNA synthesis after ionizing radiation (IR). DNA damage activates the monoubiquitination of FANCD2, targeting nuclear foci containing the BRCA1 protein.
Synonyms FA-D2; FA4; FACD; FAD; FAD2; FANCD
Note By Western blot, this antibody should recognize a band at ~166 kDa (post-translationally modified form). Additional bands may be seen at lower molecular weights. For immunofluorescence it has been tested in human MMC and IR treated MEF cells. This antibody may also be used for Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin
