Applications | ELISA, WB |
Recommended Dilution | Direct ELISA: To detect Human CXCL16 by indirect ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of ~1 µg/ml of this antibody is required. This Biotinylated antibody, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human CXCL16. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human CXCL16 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/ml of this antibody is required. This Biotinylated antibody, in conjunction with Affinity purified anti-Human CXCL16 antibody (Cat.-No PP1204P1 or PP1204P2) as a Capture antibody, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human CXCL16. Western Blot: To detect Human CXCL16 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/ml. The detection limit for recombinant Human CXCL16 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. |

Background | CXCL16 acts as a scavenger receptor on macrophages, which specifically binds to OxLDL (oxidized low density lipoprotein), suggesting that it may be involved in pathophysiology such as atherogenesis (By similarity). Induces a strong chemotactic response. Induces calcium mobilization. Binds to CXCR6/Bonzo. It is a type I membrane protein (Potential). Also exists as a soluble form. Expressed in spleen, lymph nodes, lung, kidney, small intestine and thymus. Weak expression in heart and liver and no expression in brain and bone marrow. |
Synonyms | C-X-C motif chemokine 16, Small-inducible cytokine B16, SR-PSOX, SCYB16, SRPSOX |
