HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY NFKBIE (RC214683, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 ug per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-NFKBIE (1:2000).

  Western blot analysis of extracts (35ug) from 7 different cell lines by using anti-NFKBIE monoclonal antibody (1:500).

• Background: The protein encoded by this gene binds to components of NF-kappa-B, trapping the complex in the cytoplasm and preventing it from activating genes in the nucleus. Phosphorylation of the encoded protein targets it for destruction by the ubiquitin pathway, which activates NF-kappa-B by making it available to translocate to the nucleus.
