OriGene Data
Vector:pCMV6-XL5 Insert Size: 3700 Restriction Site:
Sequence Data: Fully Sequenced ORF          5' Read Nucleotide Sequence          3' Read Nucleotide Sequence
OTI Annotation: There are 9 nucleotide difference between the OriGene clone and the NCBI reference ORF. OriGene considers these to be polymorphisms and to reflect the natural differences between individuals. These result in the substitution of 1 amino acid.
OTI Disclaimer: Our molecular clone sequence data has been matched to the reference identifier above as a point of reference. Note that the complete sequence of our molecular clones may differ from the sequence published for this corresponding reference, e.g., by representing an alternative RNA splicing form or single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP).
Product Components: The cDNA clone is shipped in a 2-D bar-coded Matrix tube as dried plasmid DNA. The package also includes 100 pmols of both the corresponding 5' and 3' vector primers in separate vials. Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of OriGene TrueClones.
Protein Families: TransmembraneDruggable Genome
Protein Pathways: Cell adhesion molecules (CAMs)

Summary: This gene is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily. The encoded protein is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. This gene is located in a six-cadherin cluster in a region on the long arm of chromosome 16 that is involved in loss of heterozygosity events in breast and prostate cancer. In addition, aberrant expression of this protein is observed in cervical adenocarcinomas. Mutations in this gene have been associated with congential hypotrichosis with juvenile macular dystrophy.
